Dazzle and Defend Photoshoot!

On Friday I had my photoshoot for my collection Dazzle and Defend! It was great to see my garments on an actual model and seeing how they would actually be worn. The photographer, Willow Mirza, did an amazing job of directing the shoot and getting the details I wanted on show. Here are a few photos of the shoot as it was happening:

And here a few samples of the outcomes of the shoot!

I will put up a couple of edited versions soon, these photos will be used on my promo material and the universitys promo material for our graduate show. Also more exciting news, I have been chosen to showcase my collection and portfolio at the New Designers event in London at the end of June, which will be an amazing opportunity to be seen by people in the industry and to get my name out there! And on top of all that My mark for this collection was a First! What a week. x

FMP outcomes!

Final Major Project deadline has come and all my work has been handed in, sadly, as I would have loved to have carried on with my theme, I found it really inspiring and loved responding to my research and developing the design process. However I am so thrilled with the garments I made and all the hard work, long hours and sewing injuries were more than worth it!

Here is the board showcasing my final collection:

I am completely in love with my little fashion illustration named Akiko, meaning sparkle in Japanese! I can really imagine these designs being worn on the Streets of Harajuku, I like to think of the look as under ground lux- grunge streetwear. Here are some photos of the actual final pieces too:

 Details of tops:

I am really pleased with the button details on the jumper and shirt, they are the most gorgeous buttons! The electric blueys on the jumper are from Cloth House in Soho, definatly a fashion students heaven, they have so many gorgeous and unique fabrics. The funky black and white buttons on the shirt are from a fabric shop on Goldhawk Road called A one fabrics.
To go with the tops I made these unique and bizarre looking leggings, sorry the photos arent that great a quality, hopefully after my photoshoot I will have some really lovely professional shots!

Hopefully my photoshoot will scheduled soon and I can pop them on my blog so that you can see my garments at their best! Im so pleased with my prints as well, I really think they give my designs a unique and quirky feel, overall I am so pleased! Also I have got my graduate fashion show coming up on the 1st of June which will be in the Eldon building at the University of Portsmouth, if any of you would like to come and see the amazing creations that the girls and I have made for our final major project pleae come along, there will be shows at 5.30 and 6.30 pm xx
